[pasmo ku] 100.5°E - Asiasat 5
: 25 sty 2017, 12:36
Hi dxers ,
The Ku-band reception of Asiasat 5 in the center-north of Romania with 150 cm dish and IBU(added scalar rings). The elevation at 100.5E is in my area of 0.7°.The signal is fairly strong but, unfortunately, due to the low elevation,it is fluctuating. The strongest is on transponder of Data to 12462 V(stream generic, encoded) and he remains constantly there.
Maybe not surprisingly, taking into account that we're in the season of cold weather, but lately the signal on 12427 V(Channel Madani) is quite good and you can see it without any problems. The wobble signal is best seen on the packages of Dish TV.Signal variation on these transponders is,especially when the wind blow, between 2 dB to 14 dB!
Because these packets are encrypted, but also because there are no other/many tv programs, than occasional feeds,Ku band is not a major interest. From this point of view,I'd say that is a satellite more for enthusiasts.Without wanting to draw cake on my ashes, reception of this satellite is in itself a performance.
Unfortunately, the reception in C-band in my case is the most affected by interference from nearby mobile.Only a few frequencies I could lock.In order to mitigate as much as possible the effect of these interference is recommended antennas large and,of course,an lnb anti-interference specially made for this. With small antennas and commercial lnbs, like mine,it is not possible to counter these effects.
In ku-band,here's what can I receive in my area at this position:
